Farah Khan Recalls Shooting ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in Scotland: ‘We Were Wearing Garbage Bags to Stay Warm’

Mumbai: Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently revisited memories from the making of the iconic Bollywood film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, sharing an amusing behind-the-scenes story from the Scotland schedule of the movie.

During a conversation with actress Tanishaa Mukerji, Farah recalled the challenging weather conditions the team faced while filming one of the film’s memorable sequences. According to her, the freezing temperatures pushed the cast and crew to adopt unusual methods to stay warm between takes.

Farah Khan Reveals a Funny Behind-the-Scenes Incident

Speaking about the shoot, Farah remembered that Tanishaa had accompanied her sister Kajol, who played one of the lead roles in the blockbuster film.

Recalling the experience, Farah said the cold weather was so intense that everyone on set struggled to stay comfortable.

“You came with Kajol and it was freezing cold. We were all freezing to death over there. And we were all wearing garbage bags. For some strange reason, someone said if you tie this plastic, you won’t feel cold,” Farah shared.

The light-hearted anecdote offered fans a rare glimpse into the realities of filming outdoors in harsh weather conditions and highlighted the dedication of the cast and crew behind the beloved classic.

Apart from sharing nostalgic film memories, Farah Khan recently celebrated a significant personal milestone as her triplets — Diva, Anya and Czar — graduated from high school.

The filmmaker shared photographs and videos from the graduation ceremony on social media, giving followers a glimpse into the special occasion. The post featured proud family moments and congratulatory messages from friends, colleagues and fans.

Several images also showed the graduates posing with notable personalities, including business leader Nita Ambani and badminton champion PV Sindhu.

Farah Khan married filmmaker Shirish Kunder in 2004 after working together on Main Hoon Na. Over the years, the couple collaborated on several successful projects, including Jaan-E-Mann, Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan.

The filmmaker welcomed her triplets in February 2008 through IVF. While she generally keeps her family life private, fans have occasionally seen glimpses of her children through social media posts and public appearances.

Interestingly, the trio also made a brief appearance during the closing credits of Tees Maar Khan in 2010, delighting audiences with their cameo.
