Punjabi actor and former Bigg Boss 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana has filed a police complaint after allegedly receiving an extortion threat of ₹10 crore from a foreign-based gangster, officials confirmed.
According to Mohali police, an FIR has been registered following the complaint submitted by the actor. Authorities stated that Himanshi reported receiving an email on her official ID that included a voice note allegedly sent by the accused, demanding ₹10 crore as extortion money.
FIR Registered Under BNS Sections
Acting swiftly on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 308(4) (extortion) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Sohana police station on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Saurav Jindal said the email reportedly contained a threatening voice message claiming to be from a foreign-based gangster.

Himanshi Khurana is widely recognised for her work in the Punjabi entertainment industry. She gained prominence with the 2013 Punjabi film Sadda Haq and has appeared in several music videos. Her participation in Bigg Boss 13 further expanded her national visibility.
Similar Complaint Filed Recently
In a separate incident last month, Punjabi singer Dilnoor also approached Mohali police, alleging that he had received a threatening call demanding ₹10 crore in connection with singer B Praak.
Police have not indicated whether the two cases are linked. Investigations in both matters remain ongoing.
