Anurag Kashyap’s long-delayed neo-noir thriller Kennedy is finally set to reach Indian audiences. The film will premiere on ZEE5 on February 20, 2026, marking its first official digital release in India nearly three years after its international debut.
Written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, Kennedy stars Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone, continuing their creative association with the filmmaker after Ugly and Dobaaraa. The film had its world premiere in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a positive response from global audiences.
Following Cannes, Kennedy travelled across an extensive international festival circuit, screening at major events including the Sydney Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Fantastic Fest in the United States, and the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
Despite being certified for release, the film did not receive a theatrical rollout in India, leading to prolonged uncertainty around its domestic availability. In December 2025, Kennedy gained limited global exposure when it was selected as the only Indian title in the launch lineup of Letterboxd’s Video Store, making it available via TVOD in over 20 countries. However, Indian viewers were excluded from that release.
