‘The Raja Saab’ Box Office Collection Day 12: Prabhas Starrer Crashes, Fails To Earn Even Rs 1 Crore

Prabhas’ fantasy horror comedy The Raja Saab, which released in theatres on January 9 ahead of Pongal and Sankranti, has witnessed a sharp decline at the box office. Directed by Maruthi, the film opened to massive numbers but failed to sustain momentum beyond its first week.

Strong Opening, Short-Lived Run

The Raja Saab began its theatrical journey on a powerful note, collecting Rs 100.60 crore worldwide on Day 1. In India, the film earned Rs 62.90 crore net, a figure that included Rs 9.15 crore from paid previews on January 8.

However, the initial festive buzz proved short-lived. After the first few days, collections began to slow down steadily, indicating a rapid drop in audience interest.

Day 12 Sees Complete Collapse

On Day 12, the film faced a major setback. As per reports by Sacnilk, The Raja Saab earned only Rs 73 lakh across all five languages, failing to cross even the Rs 1 crore mark.

This dramatic fall highlights how the film has completely lost its hold at the box office in less than two weeks. What started as a grand festival release has now slipped into single-digit daily collections.

Language-Wise Box Office Performance

After 11 days, The Raja Saab managed to collect Rs 140.70 crore in India. The bulk of this revenue came from the Telugu version.

Despite featuring a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab, the film struggled due to its execution.

“Prabhas appears comfortable in the role, embracing a lighter, flamboyant persona with relaxed confidence. His screen presence, timing and easy charm remain the film’s biggest draw. However, the film’s frequent pauses to highlight star moments come at the cost of narrative momentum, making several portions feel stretched rather than impactful.”

While Prabhas’ fans appreciated his swagger and screen presence, weak storytelling and pacing issues hurt the film’s overall reception.

Weekend Hopes Remain

With weekday collections hitting an all-time low, The Raja Saab is now heavily dependent on weekend footfall to stabilise its run. Whether the film can recover even marginally remains to be seen.
