Jaideep Ahlawat’s commanding performance as the antagonist ‘Rukma’ in The Family Man Season 3 has emerged as one of the most talked-about highlights of the series. In an interview with Lallantop, Jaideep Ahlawat candidly revealed that there was a period when he had no projects in hand and his wife stepped up to support the family financially.

The actor shared that Jyoti worked in the popular television show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, starring Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor, for nearly four months in 2024, solely to manage household expenses. Once Jaideep began getting work again, Jyoti chose to step away from acting and focus on home.

Recalling that phase, Jaideep said:

“She only did one show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, starring Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, because I was not working at that time. She worked in only one show for four months just for money to run the house. After I got work, she left the show and decided to be a homemaker.”

His remarks highlighted the often-unseen sacrifices made by partners during an actor’s struggling years.

In the same interview, Jaideep Ahlawat also opened up about how his relationship with Jyoti Hooda began. The actor shared that they first met during his early theatre days while pursuing postgraduate studies.

Jaideep revealed that when he briefly enrolled in a Mass Communication course, Jyoti and his friend Alkesh were his seniors. He later moved to FTII in 2005, and eventually, Jyoti also joined the institute and became his junior.

Speaking about their bond, Jaideep said:

“I met Jyoti when I was doing a PG during my theatre days. Jyoti and my friend Alkesh were batchmates in MSc Mass Comm. I finished my MA in English literature and then joined FTII. Initially, I was attracted to her, but over time, I fell in love. We had a lot of common topics to talk about. She didn’t pursue her career in acting.”

“No one knows better than a spouse when an actor is disturbed or worried because of prep or something that happened on the set. It takes a lot to live with that. I don’t think I have ever let Jyoti down as a husband; I’ve always tried to give it my all.”
