Celina Jaitly Says She Was Served Divorce Notice on 15th Wedding Anniversary, Claims She Has No Access to Her Children

Actor Celina Jaitly has spoken out about her ongoing legal dispute with husband Peter Haag, alleging that she was served a divorce notice on the day of their 15th wedding anniversary and is currently denied access to her three children, despite a joint custody order.

In November 2025, Celina filed a case before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Andheri, Mumbai, accusing Haag of domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation. She is seeking ₹50 crore and additional compensation for what she describes as emotional, financial, and personal loss.

‘I Left Austria to Escape Systematic Abuse’

In an emotional Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Celina posted a photograph with her children and detailed the circumstances under which she left Austria.

“On 11 October 2025, at 1 AM, I left Austria with the assistance of neighbours to escape what I had experienced as systematic oppression and abuse,” she wrote, adding that she returned to India with limited financial resources.

She further stated that after returning, she had to seek court intervention merely to enter and access her own home in India — a property she claims to have purchased in 2004, years before her marriage.

‘Denied Any Communication With My Children’

Celina alleged that despite a subsisting joint custody order from the Austrian Family Court, she is currently denied all communication with her three sons.

“There has been repeated interference with my children’s access to me, including exposure to selective media narratives, obstruction of regular parent-child communication, and brainwashing and intimidation to compel them to say things against me,” she wrote.

She described the situation as heartbreaking, stating that she has been the children’s primary caregiver since birth and has relocated across countries to support their father’s career.

Divorce Notice Served on Wedding Anniversary

In a particularly disturbing claim, Celina revealed that she was served divorce papers under the pretext of receiving a gift.

“In early September, I was served a divorce notice on the pretext of collecting a gift ordered for our 15th wedding anniversary,” she stated.

She added that she repeatedly sought an amicable separation in good faith, prioritising the children’s welfare, but was met with demands related to her premarital assets and conditions she described as degrading and coercive.

‘My Professional Achievements Were Declared Irrelevant’

Celina also alleged that during custody discussions, her career and accomplishments were dismissed.

“I was told that my professional background and achievements were irrelevant and was advised to work as a cleaner or in a supermarket in the small Austrian village we lived in, simply to retain joint custody,” she wrote.

She questioned why she was being denied her dignity, livelihood, and children despite her willingness to build an independent life in India.

‘My Entire World Was Snatched Away’

Concluding her note, Celina said:

“As matters stand today, I remain without access to my children, in circumstances shaped by jurisdictional constraints, financial coercion, and systemic imbalance, simply because I chose to stand up and fight for my rights.”
