Malti Chahar Appeals to Stop Dragging Her Parents Amid Discussions About Childhood

Malti Chahar, the popular Bigg Boss 19 contestant and sister of Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar, has requested media and audiences to keep her family out of public discussions after a recent interview sparked conversations about her childhood. Known for her confident personality and unfiltered attitude, Malti became a household name after entering the reality show as a wild card contestant and staying until the finale week.

Malti Chahar Reacts to Viral Interview

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Malti addressed the misinterpretation of her statements regarding her parents:

“I don’t understand why my parents are being dragged into every podcast and interview. And when I answer honestly and respectfully, my words get molded into attention-seeking headlines. Why? Please stick to me only. They have already had their own set of struggles…please don’t cause them any more pain.”

Her brother, Deepak Chahar, publicly supported her stance, tweeting, “Exactly why?”

Malti Opens Up About Her Childhood

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Malti spoke about growing up in a tense household:

“There was a lot of tension between my parents. They fought constantly, and being the elder sibling, I had to witness all of it. My brother had started playing cricket, which kept him away from these fights… I had told my father that I wanted to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. However, he wanted me to become an IPS officer. He believed that by keeping me away from these ambitions, I would focus on my studies. I was forced to keep short hair until the 11th grade and was given no freedom. It affected me deeply.”

She added:

“We lived in a 1BHK house, where do you go when your parents are fighting? Many times, my mother would hit me after arguing with my father, and at times, my father did the same. They never realised the impact it had on me. They had compatibility issues and have been living separately for the past 13 years.”

Malti joined Bigg Boss 19 mid-season as the second wild-card contestant, after Shehbaz Badesha. Her fiery interactions with Farrhana Bhatt and Tanya Mittal became major highlights of the season, earning her a reputation for bold and outspoken behavior.

Since the show, Malti has made numerous public appearances and interviews, balancing her career in modeling, acting, and direction while maintaining her stance on personal boundaries regarding family matters.
