At the trailer launch event, R Madhavan opened up about what drew him to the project:

“Aditya came to narrate Dhurandhar while I was shooting for something else. By the end of it, I thought, ‘Yeh aadmi kahan tha ab tak yaar.’ I’ve been part of many historic films, but this will be something else entirely.”

Although most of the cast attended the event, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna were unable to join.
