Cardi B’s first-ever performance in Saudi Arabia was not something many had predicted for 2025, yet the Grammy-winning rapper delivered a headline-making debut at MDLBeast Soundstorm 2025 in Riyadh—both musically and fashion-wise.
Taking the stage in a custom Gaurav Gupta Couture creation, Cardi B fused high drama with cultural sensitivity. According to the designer, the look featured a Candy Pink hooded bodysuit, intricately detailed with cascading ghungroo elements and crystal embellishments, paired with a fluid, cloud-draped cape. The ensemble was styled by long-time collaborator Kollin Carter, who completed the look with a striking silver winged panther brooch anchoring the cape in place.
The boots were seamlessly built into the catsuit, creating a sleek, uninterrupted silhouette. More importantly, the design was consciously developed to respect Saudi Arabia’s cultural sensibilities while remaining true to Cardi B’s bold identity.

He further revealed that the outfit incorporated Indian craft traditions, including a subtle saree-inspired drape rendered in flowing jersey fabric.
“We did a hint of saree drape in the same flowy jersey, which had the panther brooch holding it,” Gupta added.
Prior to her performance, Cardi B arrived in Riyadh wearing a bodycon gown layered with an abaya, a moment she shared on social media with her signature humor. Her tweet, “Hello Saudi Arabia … Halal B has arrived,” quickly went viral, amassing over 23.4 million likes at the time of publication.
Throughout her visit, Cardi B openly expressed her enthusiasm for the country and its people. During an Instagram Live session, she praised the local culture, saying,
“The people over here is hip, honey. They are very polite.”
Her appearance comes at a time when Riyadh is rapidly emerging as a global fashion and entertainment hub, driven by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Fashion has become a key pillar of this transformation. The city hosted the inaugural Riyadh Fashion Week in 2023, organized by the Saudi Fashion Commission, marking a significant milestone for the regional industry.
More recently, Riyadh has also attracted major luxury moments. Last November, Elie Saab celebrated 45 years of his career in the city with a star-studded event attended by global icons such as Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, and Céline Dion—further cementing Riyadh’s growing influence on the international fashion calendar.
