Kantara Chapter 1 Star Rukmini Vasanth Hints at Hindi Film Debut After Breakout Success

Actor Rukmini Vasanth, who received widespread acclaim for her role as Princess Kanakavathi in Kantara: Chapter 1, has hinted that she may soon be seen in a Hindi-language film. Following the massive success of the Rishabh Shetty-starrer, which has emerged as the highest-grossing film of the year so far, the actor says conversations around new projects have intensified.

When asked about the possibility of a Bollywood debut, Rukmini suggested that it is very much on the horizon. She revealed that several discussions are currently underway and described the prospect as something she is genuinely excited about.

Comfortable With Hindi From a Young Age

Rukmini credits her comfort with Hindi to her upbringing in an Army family. She explained that frequent exposure to the language from an early age made it a natural part of her life.

“Hindi is a language I’ve been familiar with since childhood. There was always exposure to Hindi cinema. I think the Army background played a big role — Hindi connects one cantonment to another,” she said.

While she has not yet performed extensively in the language, the actor said she is eager to explore it creatively. “I’m excited to stretch that muscle because I haven’t really had the opportunity to emote in Hindi yet. Hopefully, that’s something I’ll get to do very soon,” she added.

Growing Career Momentum

Just six years into her acting career, Rukmini has quickly built a strong presence in the industry. Her performance in Kantara: Chapter 1 was widely praised, and she is also rumoured to be part of Yash’s upcoming film Toxic, further cementing her rising status.

Speaking about her recent birthday, which marked her 29th year, the actor said it felt especially meaningful. “This birthday felt a little extra special. I’ve been reflecting on all the magic that unfolded this year,” she shared.

Although she hasn’t yet celebrated a birthday while working on set, Rukmini said she looks forward to that milestone in the near future as her career continues to expand.

With strong performances, growing national recognition and interest from Hindi filmmakers, Rukmini Vasanth appears poised to take the next step in her journey — possibly making her mark in Bollywood soon.
