MUMBAI, India — Shloka Mehta Ambani, the graceful daughter-in-law of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, recently opened up about a touching experience that underscored the real-world impact of her nonprofit initiative, ConnectFor.
Founded in 2015 alongside Maniti Shah, ConnectFor is a nonprofit organization aimed at connecting skilled volunteers with NGOs, helping them build capacity, and offering value-added support. The organization arose from Shloka’s own observations while working with the Rosy Blue Foundation, where she noticed that a handful of NGOs repeatedly received grants due to compliance with CSR regulations.
In an interview on The Krish Kothari Show, Shloka shared the story of an early volunteer experience that left a lasting impression. She recalled receiving a call from a woman eager to volunteer, who was eventually connected with a local children’s shelter. At the time, Shloka hadn’t realized the profound impact the opportunity would have.
A year later, the woman emailed Shloka, revealing that volunteering had helped her navigate a period of immense personal loss. She had recently lost her husband to cancer and felt lost, unsure how to spend her days. Through volunteering with the children’s shelter, she discovered purpose, joy, and a sense of belonging.
