Gauahar Khan Criticizes Nikhil Chinapa Over Menopause Remark, Calls It ‘Insensitive’

Actor Gauahar Khan has strongly criticized television personality Nikhil Chinapa over remarks he made while responding to her criticism of his gameplay on the reality show Alliance. Calling his comments “ignorant” and “disgusting,” Gauahar said the issue went beyond a personal disagreement and raised concerns about how menopause is discussed in public.

The exchange has sparked conversations on social media about women’s health, age-related assumptions, and respectful public discourse.

What Triggered the Controversy?

The disagreement began after Gauahar, who has been supporting her husband Zaid Darbar during his stint on Alliance, publicly questioned Nikhil Chinapa’s strategy in the game.

She had earlier alleged that Nikhil and fellow contestant Mini Mathur were not giving all participants an equal opportunity and accused Nikhil of influencing relationships between contestants inside the house.

Following his eviction, Nikhil was asked about Gauahar’s criticism during an interview.

While responding, he remarked that Mini Mathur, who has spoken publicly about menopause and perimenopause awareness, “might have insights” into Gauahar’s comments.

The remark quickly drew criticism online.

Gauahar Khan Responds

Taking to Instagram through a series of videos, Gauahar expressed disappointment over Nikhil’s statement.

She said it was troubling that a woman’s opinion could be linked to menopause or perimenopause rather than being addressed on its own merit.

Gauahar emphasized that her criticism was directed solely at Nikhil’s gameplay and was never intended as a personal attack.

She also clarified that she continues to respect him professionally despite disagreeing with his comments.

‘This Is a Sensitive Topic’

Gauahar said menopause and perimenopause are important health issues that affect millions of women and should not be used casually in public conversations.

She urged people to educate themselves about the physical and emotional challenges women may experience during these life stages.

The actor also pointed out that she gave birth approximately nine months ago, saying assumptions about her being in menopause or perimenopause were factually incorrect.

According to Gauahar, reducing a woman’s opinion to hormonal changes reinforces harmful stereotypes.

Calls for Greater Awareness

Beyond addressing Nikhil directly, Gauahar also expressed support for women experiencing menopause and perimenopause.

She said no woman should feel that her opinions or decisions are less valid because of a natural biological phase.

Gauahar further stated that she believes Nikhil should apologize to the women in his life for making what she described as an insensitive remark.

What Nikhil Chinapa Said

In the interview conducted after his eviction from Alliance, Nikhil said he did not know Gauahar personally but had heard positive things about her from Zaid Darbar.

While responding to questions about her criticism, he referenced Mini Mathur’s work related to menopause awareness and suggested she might better understand Gauahar’s perspective.

As of publication, Nikhil Chinapa has not publicly responded to Gauahar Khan’s latest comments.
